Dear Friends of FOCUS,

We are writing to you on behalf of the Fellowship of Christians United for Service (FOCUS).  Established over twenty years ago, FOCUS is dedicated to helping the less fortunate in Harris County.  Our activities include managing a thrift shop and food bank, providing monetary assistance for medical prescriptions and utility payments, promoting child abuse prevention, and assisting with home repairs.  We are incorporated and have a 100% volunteer staff representing many church denominations.

Perhaps you may recall Sister Philomena Fogarty, a Catholic nun who was truly dedicated to our mission of helping those in need.  Before her life was taken, her dream was to consolidate the activities of FOCUS under one roof.  With the tireless efforts of many individuals, FOCUS has been able to work toward the fulfillment of Sister Philomena’s dream with the purchase in the spring of 2006 of a wonderful historic facility in Hamilton. We are confident that we will be able to enhance our services to the Harris County community from our new home, the Philomena House.

Today, after all the years of help that FOCUS has given over the years to the community, we are asking for a little help in return.  We want to ensure that the money donated so generously by churches and individuals to help the needy will continue to be spent only for that purpose.  We are asking that you consider making a donation to offset the purchase expenses of our new facility.  Any donation will be greatly appreciated.  Please specify “building fund”.  You may easily make a secure donation online, in person at our offices, or by mail to the address below.  Won’t you please contribute today?
